Ordinance will allow choice of meter readings

At its monthly board meeting Friday, the Harrison County Regional Sewer District passed an ordinance that will allow it to choose which meter readings to consider when billing.

Before the ordinance, a development in which a master meter was utilized, such as one at a mobile home park, to provide service to multiple tenants was billed based on the master meter reading.

Now, the board will have the option to calculate a bill using another method of its choosing, which could mean utilizing existing flow meter data or installing new flow meters when necessary to calculate the actual volume being treated by the district’s plants.

The sewer board’s next meeting will be Friday, Dec. 20, at 8:30 a.m. at the Harrison County Community Foundation building in Corydon.
