Proud to be members of 200-year-old church
Oct. 15, 2019
My wife and I have recently joined the Corydon Presbyterian Church. We have found it to be a loving, caring and inclusive congregation. Being willing to change and allowing all to fully participate at all levels of leadership is a sign that they firmly believe in “Love Thy Neighbor” with no exceptions.
The church is now celebrating its bicentennial.
This past Sunday, the church celebrated by having an appearance of Pastor Martin (1822-1824). Several other former pastors appeared, and there was a performance by a joint choir made up of choirs from the church, Corydon United Methodist Church and the Corydon Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Included in the concert were various soloists and duets from other churches.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, the worship service will be followed by fellowship with food, an old-fashioned Sunday school demonstration and an open house. Please come and join us beginning at 10 a.m.
To recognize the church, the Town of Corydon declared a proclamation of Corydon Presbyterian Week.
My wife and I are proud to be members of a church that has provided 200 years of service to our town and our community.
