Wolfpack forfeit football game to NH

The Battle for Blue paddle didn’t happen Friday night.
Crawford County, due to low attendance numbers at practices last week, informed North Harrison on Thursday morning it would forfeit the football contest between the rivals.
Officially, the contest goes in the record book as a 2-0 victory for North Harrison, according to North Harrison coach Mark Williamson, who consulted with the Indiana High School Athletic Association to confirm.
The Cougars’ record improves to 4-4, while Crawford County drops to 1-7.
The series began in 2007 when the Wolfpack played its first varsity football season. North Harrison won the initial contest 40-0. The following season, Crawford County won its only game in the series, 34-27. Since then, North Harrison has won 10 straight, including the forfeit.
Friday wasn’t the only time the two teams didn’t compete in a regularly scheduled contest since 2007. Inclement weather forced the cancellation of the 2014 game.
Crawford County is slated to travel to Tecumseh on Friday, while North Harrison is scheduled to close the regular season at Clarksville.
