Harriet E. Wheat, 88, Corydon, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, in Meadows Place, Texas.

Born Dec. 23, 1930, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mildred Feller Jones.

She was an employee of the former Old Capitol Bank and worked for Dr. Carl Dillman for many years.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Wheat, and four brothers, Bob, Tom, Bill and Ed Jones.

Survivors include three sons, John (Jack) Wheat of New Albany, Richard (Rick) Wheat of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., and James (Jim) Wheat of Jupiter, Fla.; a daughter, Penny Wheat Fiederlein of Houston, Texas; a sister, Ruth Harbaugh of Corydon; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Visitation: Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Memorial service: Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the Corydon Christian Church.
