Charles E. Salisbury
Charles Eugene (Charlie) Salisbury, 73, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.
Born Aug. 13, 1946, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Hanks Salisbury.
He was a disabled Vietnam veteran of the Army, worked at Belknap Bluegrass Hardware for 22 years and J&S Builders for five years, was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3281 in New Albany and a member of Tunnel Hill Christian Church in Georgetown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Salisbury.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Patricia (Pat) Wetzel; a daughter, Melissa (Missy) Walker (James) of Clarksville; a son, Christopher (Chris) Salisbury (Toni) of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Shawn Cassidy (Steven), Allison Gannon, Kevin Scott and Eric Salisbury; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Levi Cassidy; a brother, William Salisbury (Roynettie) of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Roxanna Gragg and Melanie Salisbury.
Celebration of Life: Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Tunnel Hill Christian Church (5105 Old Georgetown Road, Georgetown). His ashes will be buried on Monday, Oct. 14, at 9 a.m. at the National Cemetery in New Albany with full military honors.
