Captain Kenneth Earl McFelea, 86, Evansville, formerly of Owensboro, Ky., died Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at his home.

Born Sept. 12, 1932, in Green County, he was the son of the late Patrick and Ora Dobson McFelea.

He graduated from Milltown High School in 1951, served as a Coast Guardsman for 31 years and helped restore the New Testament Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman McFelea, and a sister, Ovada Habermel.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, the former Joni Taylor; a daughter, Kathy Lee of Owensboro, Ky.; a son, Kenneth (Buddy) Earl McFelea Jr. of Owensboro, Ky.; a sister, Maxine Archibald; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 28, after noon at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro, Ky.

Funeral: Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial, and full military honors, at Rosehill Cemetery.
