Irma M. Barnard
Irma Mae Deatrick Barnard, 97, Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 22, 2019, at the home of her daughter.
Born Sept. 13, 1921, in New Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Sheridan and Mary Ann (Mamie) McPhillips Deatrick.
She graduated from New Middletown High School in 1939, attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford and was formerly employed as a factory worker, working at GKN Sinter Metal (the old Gould Factory) in Salem and Cortron Television Factory in Orleans.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Barnard; two sons, Roger and Greg Barnard; and six siblings, Mary Lanceskes, Beveridge Deatrick, Wilford Deatrick, Joseph Deatrick, Clarence Deatrick and Margaret Mann.
Survivors include six children, Claudia Coffey (Gary), Nancy Baker, Alex Barnard (Peggy), Sandra Bowling, Jeff Barnard (Connie) and Debbie Barnard; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Barnard; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Thursday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford with interment in St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
