Darrell W. Lowe Sr.
Darrell Wayne Lowe Sr., 70, New Salisbury, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, at his home.
Born May 3, 1949, at Fort Knox, Ky., he was the son of the late Alva (Bill) and Mary Byerley Lowe.
He was retired from E.I. DuPont in Louisville, a member of the First Baptist Church of Alton and an Army veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Taylor Jones, and two brothers, Jack Lowe Sr. and Joseph Lowe.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, the former Karen L. Shewmaker; a son, Darrell W. Lowe Jr. (Helen) of Hardinsburg; three daughters, Melissa Johnston (David) of Greenwood, Dana Jones of Lafayette and Vicky Schneider (Mark) of Georgetown; his father-in-law, Albert Shewmaker of New Salisbury; four brothers, Gerald Lowe Sr. (Lois), Mickey Lowe Sr. and Gary Lowe Sr. (Brenda), all of Corydon, and Randy Lowe Sr. (Denise) of Ramsey; three sisters, Joyce Schreck (Dick) and Karen Sue Smith (Jerry), both of Corydon, and Barbara Bullington (Danny) of Ramsey; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Meghan, Bethany, Mitchell, Trey, Caden, Olivia, Tony, Abigail, McKenzye, Adam, Kira and Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Luca.
Visitation: Saturday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Memorial service: Saturday, July 20, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Thompson’s Chapel Cemetery near Depauw.
Officiant: The Rev. Paul Holt.
