Charles (Paul) Ruby Sr.


Charles (Paul) Ruby Sr., 68, Corydon, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at his home after battles with brain and lung cancer.
Born Feb. 21, 1951, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Marion and Mary Frances Farnsley Ruby.
He graduated from high school in 1969, went on to serve six years in the Army, where he earned the rank of E-6, then drove a semi for Keller Manufacturing Co. for 15 years and then delivered live poultry for Tyson Foods, where he later retired. After his retirement from Tyson, he worked part time for Conrad’s shop. He was a member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon and also attended Trinity Assembly of God near Corydon.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, the former Betty J. Snyder; two sons from his previous marriage, Charlie II and Chris; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lin and Pete; and two sisters, Linda (Sue) and Mary Jane.
Visitation: Sunday, July 7, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, July 8, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Central Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Paul Greer.
Pallbearers: Charlie Ruby II, Lin Ruby, Rick Hess, Terry White, Charles Snyder, Chas Snyder and Zach Redden.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Central Cemetery Corp.
