Jerald L. Hess
Jerald Lynn Hess, 74, Lanesville, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in New Albany.
Born Sept. 12, 1944, in Louisville, he was the son of Sylvester A. and Eulah Isalene Wolfe Hess.
He was co-owner of City Blueprint Co., a charter member of the Lanesville Jaycees, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville, a former Lanesville Town Council member and a former member of the Lanesville Heritage Committee and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He served in the Army National Guard of Indiana and as a Reserve of the Army. He was an avid jogger and could always be seen running in the Lanesville, Corydon and downtown Louisville areas until his health no longer allowed him to run.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Lynn Smith; a daughter, Jacqueline Beck (Jason) of Lanesville; a son, Jerald L. Hess Jr. (Theresa ) of Lanesville; and two brothers, William Hess (Margaret) of New Albany and Jay Hess (Debbie) of Palmyra.
Visitation: Friday, May 31, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7, and Saturday, June 1, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral Mass: Saturday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown with interment in the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Frenchtown.
