Junior Crawford, 71, New Salisbury, died Thursday, March 21, 2019, at his home.
Born April 24, 1947, in New Salisbury, he was the son of the late Henry and Bessie Herd Crawford.
He was a 1965 graduate of Morgan Township High School, served for six years in the Army Reserve, retired with 31 years of service from Verizon Communications Inc. in Corydon and was a member of Central Barren United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 457 in Fredericksburg and Masonic Lodge 591 in Crandall.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Crawford.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara J. Hake; a son, Randall Crawford of Jeffersonville; a daughter Chrisie Dorton (Bobby) of Shepherdsville, Ky.; a granddaughter, Erin Dorton; six brothers, Robert (Ree) of Mission, Texas, Bill (Pat) of Fort Wayne, Charlie (Janie) of New Salisbury, Ray (Jennifer) of Oden, Eugene (Diana) of Corydon and Ernie of Louisville; and five sisters, Edna Carney of New Albany, Mamie Burnsides (Jim) and Gerry Porenski (Steve), both of Corydon, Wanda Rhodes (Chuck) of Louisville and Virginia Darlene Tackett (John) of Pekin.
Visitation: Sunday, March 24, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday, March 25, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Monday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Central Barren Cemetery.
