Roger L. Gerdon, 53, Corydon, died Monday, March 18, 2019, at his home.
Born March 12, 1966, in Corydon, he was the son of William (Bill) Gerdon of Corydon and the late Imogene (Katherine) Lutes Gerdon.
He was a longtime car salesman who began at his family business, Gerdon Auto Sales in Corydon, where he was a fixture for 27 years, then joined John Jones Auto Group in Corydon, where he worked another eight years to the present. He was a member of the Eagles, Lions and Sportsman clubs and served as a past president in all for a period. He also was the president of Friends of Harrison County Youth for 15 years and coached Peewee football through the Corydon Optimist program.
Survivors besides his father include his high school sweetheart and wife of 35 years, the former Teresa Rainbolt; two daughters, Tabitha Seacat (Matt [1]) and Mallory Fletcher (Matt [2]) both of Corydon; two sisters, Rita Pennington (David) and Teresa Crawhorn (Tom), both of Corydon; and six grandchildren, Hunter, Laken, Paislynn, Reese, Presley and Skylar.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 20, from noon to 8 p.m. and Thursday, March 21, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, March 21, at noon at the funeral home with burial in Perseverance Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery south of Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Harrison County Community Foundation, Lions Club, Dan Hardsaw Scholarship Fund, 1523 Foundation Way NE, Corydon, IN 47112 or donations will be accepted at the funeral home for Friends of Harrison County Youth.
