Thelma J. Pearson

Thelma Jean Pearson, 84, Louisville, formerly of Marengo, died Saturday, March 9, 2019.
Born March 13, 1934, in Bakersfield, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Oland Lee Crowley and Grace Evelyn Nixon Steele.
She was a radio operator for two years in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions of responsibility including, Relief Society president, Primary president, choir director, organist, temple volunteer and, with her husband, served a mission at the St. Louis Temple.
Besides her parents, she was preceded her in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy Pearson Sr.; a brother, James Nixon; a grandson, Cameron Steele Pearson; and a great-grandson, Andrew Jewell.
Survivors include five children, Brenda Sissel and Roy M. Jr., Stephanie, Paul and Cassie Pearson; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 13, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, March 14, after 10 a.m. at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Louisville.
Funeral: Thursday, March 14, at noon at the funeral home with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
