Mary (LaVerne) Wiseman, 95, Corydon, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon.
Born Nov. 30, 1923, in Mauckport, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Eugene Faith and Maude Lohmeyer Faith.
She spent her childhood in Mauckport and graduated from Mauckport High School then attended a business college. After graduation, she worked in Washington, D.C., for a few years before moving back to Indiana and had employment at Harrison REMC until her retirement 30 years later. She was a member and worked at Hyland Christian Church until it closed and, as long as health permitted, attended Union Chapel Christian Church. She was a member of the VFW of Corydon and the Order of the Eastern Star of New Albany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Elmer Ray Wiseman, and a brother, Gayland (Red) Faith.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Wilma Richard.
Visitation: Saturday, March 16, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, after 10 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Hyland Cemetery near Mauckport.
Officiants: The Revs. Bill Campbell and Ron Stuart.
Pallbearers: Dayton Boyd, Jerry Boyd, Brad Wiseman, Patrick Richard, Kelvin Wiseman and Eric Fowler.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Hyland Cemetery Fund.
