Thomas Austin Scott Sr., 48, Elizabeth, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, in New Albany.
Born Jan. 29, 1971, in Indianapolis, he was a mechanic technician and founded Scott Racing, which he shared with his sons, a veteran of the National Guard and served as a firefighter for 18 years for Charlestown, New Washington and Boone Township volunteer fire departments and was an paramedic for Sellersburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Davis Scott, and a brother, David A. Scott.
Survivors include his fianc’, Rachel Pellman of Elizabeth; his mother, Dianna Jean Luther Scott Decker (Raymond ‘Pop’) of Jeffersonville; two sons, Austin Scott of Lexington and Tyler (Ty) D. Scott of Sellersburg; two daughters, Mackenzie Scott and Taylor Ashley, both of Elizabeth; two sisters, Dawn M. Blankenship of Pekin and Mary E. Vires of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, March 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday, March 4, after 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, March 4, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in Rogers Campground Cemetery at Elizabeth.
Officiant: The Rev. Gary Decker.
