Ruth Catherine Baumann Davis, 99, Palmyra, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Indian Creek Health Center in Corydon.
Born Nov. 20, 1919, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel Sprigler Baumann.
She was a production worker for both ICI Ammunitions Plant in Charlestown and M. Fine Shirt Factory in New Albany and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Davis; three brothers, William, Richard and Alvin Baumann; and two sisters, Rita Haub and Mildred Barmore.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Davis Uhl of Corydon; brother, a Melvin Baumann of Louisville; a sister, Patricia Haub of Sellersburg; three grandchildren, Michele Zimmerman (Kerry), Michael Uhl (Brenda) and Melanie Uhl; eight great-grandchildren, Alex Zimmerman (Stephanie), Gretchen and Heidi Zimmerman, Heather Uhl, Kayla Uhl (Jake), Alexis and Bailey Gibson and Brian Bowman (Jackie); and five great-great-grandchildren, Jack Hensley, Layla Zimmerman, Baer Bowman and Isabella and Beau Zimmerman.
Visitation: Monday, Feb. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and Tuesday, Feb. 26, after 8:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the church with burial in the Palmyra Cemetery.
Celebrant: Father John Fink.
