Sharon Spangler Bird, 67, Palmyra, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at home.
Born Jan. 29, 1951, in Montgomery, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Carrie Bailey Spangler.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Dale Spangler, and a sister, Messel Spangler Abshire.
She retired after 35 years as a purchasing agent for Sud-Chemie Inc. (formerly United Catalyst) in Louisville and was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church, where she was a volunteer.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Andrew Bird; a son, Scott R. Bray; two stepchildren, Jeff Bird and Synthia Fetz; two brothers, Jerry and Gary (Shorty) Spangler; four sisters, Phyllis Diaz, Patty Huber, Gloria Roberti and Kathy Sizemore; four step-grandchildren, Deven Bird, Mackenzie Bird, December Fetz and London Fetz; and many other relatives.
Visitation: Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 27, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Thursday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Palmyra Cemetery.
