Robert Sipes Jr., 19, Bewleyville, Ky., was killed in action Nov. 30, 1950, near Pyongyang, North Korea.
Born Oct. 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Robert Jefferson Sipes Sr. and Mabel Elizabeth LeGrand.
He joined the Army in April 1950 and was assigned to Love Company 3rd Battalion, 7th Calvary Regiment and 1st Calvary Division in Korea.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James F Sipes.
Survivors include three sisters, Anna Priest of Irvington, Ky., Mildred Smith of Indianapolis and Charlotte Wright of Central; 11 nephews; eight great-nephews; 12 great-nieces; eight great-great-nephews; 12 great-great-nieces; and a great-great-great-niece.
Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, Ky.
Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 5, at noon at the funeral home with burial in Bethel Cemetery in Bewleyville, Ky.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Wounded Warrior Project.
