WIlliam J. Roberts

William Joseph (Joe) Roberts, 90, Corydon, formerly of Franklin, N.C., died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born July 6, 1928, in Gilmanton Ironworks, N.H., he was the son of the late William Ernst and Louie Frances Baynham Roberts.
He attended the University of New Hampshire, was a retired general contractor in Florida for several large companies and was a Navy Seabee veteran of the Korean War where he helped construct air fields for U.S. Marine air groups during the war.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Patricia L. Roberts and Shirley M. Roberts.
Survivors include a son, Daryl J. Roberts; a daughter, Kathleen Lower (Mike); a stepson, John Hinton (Rosie); a grandson, Brian Lower (Alecia); a step-grandson, John Hinton Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Marie Lower and Caleb Michael Lower; a sister, Marie Kerr (Robert); and four nieces, Deborah Kerr, Teresa Rodgers and Caroline and Cindy Godwin.
Funeral: Private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
