Donald W. Satterfield

Donald W. Satterfield, 79, Depauw, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at Hosparus of Louisville.
Born Oct. 27, 1939, in Depauw, he was the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Morgan-Trowbridge Satterfield.
He was the owner and operator of Satterfield’s Garage, a business he and his father built together. Donnie later expanded the business with another building as a hardware store/lawn and garden center. He also served as the Spencer Township trustee for 40 years and was able to secure the funds to build a firehouse in Frenchtown that serves the northwest area of Spencer Township.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Satterfield, and a sister, Darlene Satterfield.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Katherine Mansfield; a son, Eddie Satterfield (Angie) of Depauw; three daughters, Donnetta Reed (Alan) of Palmyra, Donna Voyles (John) of Palmyra and Delisa Culver (Phillip) of Corydon; a sister, Delorse Haley; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Saturday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment in Wolfe Cemetery at Georgetown.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the WHAS Crusade for Children, Ramsey Fire Volunteer Dept. or Hosparus.
