Jo Ann Mathews, 76, Corydon, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Aug. 8, 1941, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Alva E. and Maude A. Rainbolt Lowe.
She was a tour guide at the old First State Capitol Building and a travel counselor at the Harrison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, both in Corydon, was formerly employed at Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon and the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville and was an avid HAMM radio operator.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, George Raymond Lowe.
Survivors include her significant other, Henry L. Cosby; a son, Orvy Sprayberry Jr. (Paula) of Corydon; two grandchildren, Shayna Hamilton (Sandy) and Travis Sprayberry; and two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Hamilton and Sloan Hamilton.
Visitation: Sunday, April 22, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Monday, April 23, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, April 23, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Jim Higdon.
Pallbearers: Travis Sprayberry, Clark, Robert and Ethan Whitehouse, Bryan Rawlins and Carl Vaughn.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
