James H. Briles

James H. Briles, 72, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Corydon.
Born Oct. 18, 1945, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Homer and Pauline Jackson Briles.
He served in the Air Force, was a supervisor at PSI Duke and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in New Albany and VFW Post 3281.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Briles.
Survivors include a son, Bradley Watkins (Teresa) of Georgetown; two daughters, Laura Briles of New Albany and Shelley Haycraft (Alton) of Corydon; a brother, Paul Ray Briles (Sandy) of Georgetown; a sister, JoAnn Briles of New Albany; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nephews.
Visitation: Thursday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Thursday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial, including military rites, in Wolfe Cemetery at Georgetown.
Officiant: Pastor Tim Johnson.
