Williams S. Gentry

William S. Gentry, 71, Milltown, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at University Hospital in Louisville.
Born Sept. 8, 1946, in Milltown, he was the son of the late Walter Bertys and Bertie Mary Virginia Heischman Gentry.
He was a retired banker, loan officer and vice president, a member and lay leader of Milltown United Methodist Church and a member of Milltown Masonic Lodge No. 661, Zoneton (Ky.) Masonic Lodge No. 964, American Legion No. 777 in Indianapolis, New Albany VFW Post No. 3281 and the Indiana University Alumni Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Catherine V. Grant; a son, Robert A. Gentry of Marengo; two daughters, Heather D. Prince (Anthony) of Palmyra and Alisa Jill Dooley (Jason) of Milltown; two brothers, David E. Gentry of Milltown and Arthur Thomas Gentry of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth A. Ayoub (Syd) of Naples and Anita L. Bowles (Brian) of Depauw; and six grandchildren, Katie, Warren, Haylie, Jason Jr., Ashely and Sydney.
Visitation: Friday, March 2, from 2 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service by the Milltown Masonic Lodge No. 661, at 7, at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown and Saturday, March 3, after 10 a.m. at Milltown United Methodist Church.
Funeral: Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at the church with interment in Union Chapel Cemetery near Milltown.
Officiant: Pastor Lary Cropper.
