James F. (Jim) Saulman, 88, Corydon, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany.
Born July 24, 1929, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Ellsworth J. and Alma Kiger Saulman.
He was a former owner of Saulman Brothers Tree Service, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Corydon Moose Lodge and an Army veteran during the Korean War.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bonnie Jean Brangers; a son, Robert Anthony (Tony) Fuqua; a brother, Paul E. Saulman; two sisters, Pauline Ashton and Alyce Watson; and a granddaughter, Teresa Flickner.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie L. Gresham (Dwight) and Kimberly S. Stewart (Roger), both of Corydon, and Jill Ann Delaney (Donald) of Clearwater, Fla.; two brothers, Carl (Corky) Saulman and Kenneth Saulman (Naomi), both of Corydon; a sister, Susie Troncin (Tommy) of Corydon; 11 grandchildren, Tina, Tammy, Traci, Jennifer, Jeremy, Joshua, Mandy, Misha, Matthew, Shane and Wendy; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 3, and Saturday, Feb. 17, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, both in Corydon.
Officiant: Father Robert Hankee.
Pallbearers: Joshua and Jeremy Stewart, Matthew Delaney, Jeff Harmon, Marty Moore and Steve Spires.
Honorary pallbearers: Chad Wilke, Chase Moore, Lane Flickner, Dylan and Ethan Caldwell, Zavier and Zander Spires and Shane Gresham.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
