Alvin M. Brown
Alvin Marion (My Pal Al) Brown, 76, Palmyra, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018.
Born Nov. 14, 1941, in Quality, Ky., he was the son of the late James and Mallie Gibson Brown.
He was an inspector at Tube Turns and served on the Harrison County Council for 16 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Willie Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, the former Linda Perkins; two children, Jaime McAfee (Brad) and Jeremy Brown; and seven siblings, Clara Gregory, Dwight Smith (Brenda), Dottie Copler, Glenda Hoffman, Ron Brown (Nancy), Joyce Szarek (Mike) and Karen Brummitt.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 1, after 9 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Thursday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Abundant Life Memorial Garden in New Albany.
