Hugh Martin, 99, New Salisbury, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at his home.
Born Feb. 12, 1918, at New Salisbury, he was the son of the late Arvil I. and Cora Hendricks Martin.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a retired self-employed building contractor and a member of the Old Lake Club at Ramsey and Old State Capitol VFW Post No 2950 in Corydon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jane Boes; a son, Kevin Martin; a brother, Robert P. Martin; and two sisters, Allean Sapppenfield and Lena Helen Martin.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Martin (Joanne) of Laguna Niquel, Calif., and Michael Martin (Cindy) of Ramsey; four daughters, Twila Lee (Tony) of New Albany, Janine Hackman (Paul) of Crandall, Denise Hook (Larry) of North Vernon and Tracy Fessel (Samuel) of New Salisbury; a stepson, Gary Boes of New Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Jan. 26, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 27, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.
