Howard Saylor, 86, Corydon, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Oct. 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Beaty Lewis and Elizabeth Saylor.
He was an electrician for General Electric in Louisville, a Marine veteran of the Korean War, serving as a member of the Fox Company, which was a historical and elite military groups in special ops, and a member of the Harrison County Horse Patrol.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rose Mary Ballard.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Wayne Saylor (Peggy) of Leavenworth and Richard Lane Saylor (Sally) of Lanesville; four daughters, Marla K. Byrd (Steve) and Cathy Ann Simcoe (Larry), both of Corydon, Susan Wheeler (Mark) of Clarksville and Angela White of Mauckport; a sister, Maureen Malphrus of Ridgeland, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 22, after 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, with military rites, in Corydonn.
Officiant: Pastor Jon Pearce.
