Verne Davis Pinaire, 97, Corydon, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born May 7, 1920, in Ramsey, he was the son of the late Rolla and Audra Davis Pinaire.
He retired from Ford Motor Co. in Louisville after 30 years, was a retired farmer, was a member and parish visitor at Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon, was a member of VFW Post 2950 in Corydon and the American Legion and was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, from 1942 to 1946, where he served in Africa and India.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Frances Joan Stover; two brothers, Ermal (Bud) and Kenneth Pinaire; and a granddaughter, Erin Lough.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Ann Reed Ragsdale of Austin, Texas, and Barbara Jean Pinaire (Bill Lough) of Stuart, Fla.; a brother, James Pinaire (Bonnie) of Ramsey; and two grandchildren, Bobbie Ragsdale and Trevelyn Lough.
Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon.
