Carl E. Duley
Carl E. Duley, 81, Corydon, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born April 4, 1936, in Laconia, he was the son of the late Roy Gilbert and Edith Mae Lynch Duley.
He was the owner of C & D Transportation LLC, a school bus driver for 40 years for the South Harrison Community School Corp., a former Harrison County councilman, a Harrison County Hospital board member, a 60-year member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church, a 32-year member of the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of several other community groups, including Pisgah Masonic Lodge 32, New Middletown Lions Club, Pfrimmer’s Chapel UMC Cemetery Board, Royal Arch, Eagles Club, Sportsman Club and Scottish Rite.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Duley, and a sister, Mary Catherine Black.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Marilyn Joan Sharp; a son, Steve Duley (Penny) of Corydon; two daughters, Sherri Coleman (Bill) and Susan Duley-Vannis, both of Corydon; two brothers, Gilbert Duley (Linda Sue) of Corydon and Robert Allen Duley (Norma) of Santa Claus; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7:30, and Tuesday, Dec. 12, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Pfrimmer’s Chapel UMC Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Tim Johnson.
