Charles L. Pruitt Sr.
Charles Larry Pruitt Sr., 88, Depauw, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at his home.
Born April 5, 1929, at Louisville, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Elizabeth Leezer Pruitt.
He attended Flaget High School, was a peacetime Army veteran, retired from International Harvester in Indianapolis and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Joann Porter, Doris Woods and Mary Messmer.
Survivors include his wife, the former Stella Mays; six sons, Charles L. Pruitt Jr. and Edward L. Pruitt (Brenda), both of Bradford, Timothy S. Pruitt ( Leah) of Greenville, Jacob Tyler Voyles of Depauw, Mike Lowhorn (Tina) of Palmyra and Allen Lowhorn (Tonya) of Borden; four daughters, Deborah Peterson (Chuck) and Karen S. O’Conner, both of Sellersburg, Carla Gohmann of Georgetown and Paula Voyles of Payneville, Ky.; three brothers, Joe Pruitt (Clara) of Salem, James Pruitt (Rose) of Bradford and Michael Pruitt (Connie) of Palmyra; three sisters, Helen Gilligan of Ohio, Carolyn Zimmerman of Sherburne, N.Y., and Sharon Senn (Ed) of Palmyra; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 2 to 8 p.m. (family at 1 p.m.) and Thursday, Sept. 14, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens.
