Kenneth Melton Crone, 91, Corydon, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017.
Born Aug. 1, 1926, in Crandall, he was the son of the late Walter and Clara May Melton Crone.
He was a World War II veteran, a Bronze Star recipient who served in Germany in the 423rd infantry under the command of Gen. Omar Bradley, a member of the Corydon Christian Church Disciples of Christ, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2950 in Corydon and retired from Hurst Lumber Co. in Corydon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Mary AnnaBelle Crone and ImaDee Crone; a son, Kenneth Edward Crone; a stepson, Rick Johnson; three brothers, Guy, Ray and Wayne Crone; and three sisters, Janice Crone, Mary Henriott and Leona Lang.
Survivors include his companion, Lois Mullins; five daughters, Rita Robinson (Jerry) of Georgetown, Donna Jacobs of Corydon, Linda Crosier (George) of New Albany, Margie Dietrich of Memphis and Connie Jones (Calvin) of Shepherdsville, Ky.; two brothers, Benny Crone (Linda) of Palmyra and Robert Crone (Bonnie) of New Middletown; three sisters, Janie Crawford (Charlie) of New Salisbury, Jo Ann Harrison (Bob) of Georgetown and Vera Crone of New Albany; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Aug. 7, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 8, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Charlie Crawford.
Pallbearers: Harold Carver, Zachary Dietrich, Rob Jacobs, Joe Shields, Jason Shields and Coy Stepro.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Kindred Hospice.
