Ruby F. Flick

Ruby Fern Byerly Flick, 88, New Albany, died Thursday, July 27, 2017.
Born Sept. 9, 1928, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Snyder Byerly.
She was a long-time member of the VFW and the Order of the Eastern Star, an active member of Grant Line United Methodist Church, Jacobs Chapel United Methodist Church and the Emmaus community and also a member of Beach United Methodist Church in Fort Myers, Fla.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Malcolm Smith; a sister, Lola Seiler; a brother, Jesse Byerly; two sons, Frank Flick and Richard Flick; and a grandson, Martin Frederick.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 56 years, Cameron Flick; children, Joann Frederick (Alan) of Greenville, Randy Flick (Karen) of Sellersburg, Bobbi Mardis (Ray) of Floyds Knobs and Theresa Pettigrew (Tim) of Indianapolis; two brothers, Carl and Stanley Byerly; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: Monday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seabrook-Dieckman & Naville Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Monday, July 31, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Jacob’s Chapel United Methodist Church for its kitchen refurbishment project.
