Wilbur L. Adams Sr.
Wilbur (Will) L. Adams Sr., 79, Springfield, Ill., died Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 6:21 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center.
Born Jan. 22, 1938, in Depauw, he was the son of the late Leander Franklin (Frank) and Georgia Edith Vaughn Adams.
He graduated from Purdue University, worked as a pharmacist, retiring in 1996, and was a member of the Illinois Pharmacy Association and Sherman United Methodist Church, where he was active on church committees.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn Rendell.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Ruth Forness; two sons, Wil Adams Jr. of Springfield, Ill., and Ken Adams (Jan) of North Oaks, Minn.; two grandchildren, Michael Adams (Caitie) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Stephanie Adams of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Gilbert Adams (Pat) of Depauw; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, July 23, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home in Springfield, Ill.
Funeral: Monday, July 24, at Sherman United Methodist Church in Sherman, Ill., with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Mike Pennell.
