Larry L. Pfeiffer, 72, Greensburg, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.
Born May 7, 1945, in Corydon, he was the son of Doris Kopp Pfeiffer and the late Bernie (Bud) Pfeiffer.
After graduating from Corydon Central High School, he joined the Navy, serving during the Vietnam era, from 1963 to 1967, and spent time in Iceland and was stationed aboard the USS Pocono. He was a 911 communications supervisor for the Indiana State Police and the Madison Police Dept. and a lifelong Methodist.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Pfeiffer.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife of 37 years, the former Karen D. Ogle; two sons, Jonathan Pfeiffer of Lanesville and Timothy Pfeiffer of Greensburg; two daughters, Darla LeMonis of Lanesville and Rachel Pfeiffer Hayden (Timothy) of Port Orchard, Wash.; three brothers, Joe Pfeiffer (Stephanie Vines) of Salem, Tom Pfeiffer (Sherry) of Corydon and Jim Pfeiffer (Jeanette) of North Vernon; a sister, Barbara Boley (Maurice) of Elizabeth; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorial service: Wednesday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at Faith Points Lutheran Church in Greensburg with burial at a later date.
Officiant: Dr. Michael Layne.
Arrangements: Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
