Jerry L. Renfro
Jerry L. Byrns Renfro, 77, Westport, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at 12:04 p.m. at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.
Born March 4, 1940, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lois Lagatha Carroll Byrns.
She was a 1958 graduate of Corydon Central High School and a 1961 graduate of the Kentucky Baptist School of Nursing in Louisville, a nurse at Decatur County Memorial Hospital until she retired in 2002 after 30 years, a member of Westport Baptist Church, where she headed up the Westport Clothes Closet and the Mission Circle, and the former Baker’s Dozen Home Economics Club.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Byrns.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Robert C. Renfro Jr.; two children, Susan Cross of Westport and Robert Edward Renfro of Madison; a sister, Carroll Gilham of Corydon; a brother, Terry Byrns of Seymour; and three grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, June 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport.
Funeral: Friday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Westport Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. David A. Scaggs.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Decatur County Hospice, American Heart Association Westport Clothes Closet or the Westport Baptist Church building fund.
