John L. (Gus) Keller Jr., 94, Corydon, died Saturday, April 29, 2017.
Born June 21, 1922, in Harrison County, he was the son of the late John L. and Augusta Hughes Keller.
He graduated from Corydon High School and Indiana University in Bloomington and attended the Northwestern University School of Business in Chicago. He was vice president and a member of the board of directors of Keller Manufacturing Co., was a member of Corydon Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Pisgah Masonic Lodge No. 32 F&AM in Corydon, VFW Post 2950 in Corydon, the Cedar Hill Cemetery Board of Regents and the old Corydon Country Club, was involved in the local Cub Scout chapter and was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, the former Mary Helen Crayden, and a sister, Helen K. Ott.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Mayrath (Tim) of Coppell, Texas, and Nancy Timberlake Passell (Mike) of Dallas, Texas; a son, Richard C. Timberlake (Barbara) of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Abby Ball (Wayne), Billy and Ben Timberlake, Jennifer Passell Colon (Will), Natalie Mayrath (Jo) and Emily Mayrath Bonanno (Matthew); and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, May 3, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 4, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Rick Harting.
Pallbearers: Max Martin, Mark and Michael Wiseman, Billy and Ben Timberlake, Matthew Bonanno, Jo Seed, Will Colon, Wayne Ball, Tim Mayrath and Mike Passell.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Corydon Christian Church Disciples of Christ or the Harrison County Community Foundation.
