Robert W. Adams

Robert William (Bill) Adams, 91, New Salisbury, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at Harrison Springs Medical Campus in Corydon.
Born Nov. 26, 1925, in Tennessee, he was the son of the late Alva and Beulah Kilzer Adams.
He was a World War II American Merchant Marine veteran, a retired farmer and truck driver for the old Consolidated Freight Way Co. in Louisville, a 60-year member of Miles Masonic Lodge No. 341 in Cupio, Ky., and a member of the NRA, Crandall Masonic Lodge No. 591 and Unity Chapel United Methodist Church near Ramsey.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, James and Betty Adams.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marion L. Pitts; a son, Robert L. Adams (Sharon) of New Salisbury; a brother, Joe D. Adams of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; and a granddaughter, Brook Nicole Adams.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 26, from 3 to 8 p.m., with Masonic rites at 7, and Thursday, April 27, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Thursday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial, and military rites, in Woods Chapel Cemetery near Ramsey.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Unity Chapel United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
