Virgie M. Troncin

Virgie Mary Steiner Troncin, 97, Floyds Knobs, died Friday, March 3, 2017, at The Villages at Historic Silvercrest in New Albany.
Born May 22, 1919, at New Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elnora Gerdon Steiner.
She was retired from the old Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Troncin; two grandchildren, Ron Knasel and Shawn Schaffer; and four brothers, Orlee, Johnnie, Arlie and Guy Steiner.
Survivors include a son, Francis (Frank) Brown of New Albany; a daughter, Rowena Knasel (John Deaver) of Floyds Knobs; a stepson, Tommy Troncin of Corydon; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Schaffer of Clarksville and Dottie Redden of Taswell; 10 grandchildren, Tony Brown, Janine Giffee, Amanda Wade, Don Knasel, John Knasel, Tabby Bolen, Whitney Blair, Jim Redden, Jerry Redden and Jacque Redden; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, March 6, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 7, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Tuesday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown with burial in the church cemetery.
