James William (Jim) Hart, 88, Corydon, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born July 5, 1928, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Albert and Donnie Breeden Hart.
He was a retired machinist at the old Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville, was a member of VFW Post 2950 and the American Legion, both in Corydon, the North American Hunting Club and the NRA, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former June Lavon Stoner.
Survivors include five sons, Steve Hart (Stephanie) of Seymour and Bill Hart (Taresa), Dale Hart, Larry Hart (Sharon) and John Hart, all of Corydon; a daughter, Karen Sutherland of Corydon; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Feb, 25, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 26, after 10 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Lida Bain will officiate.
Pallbearers: Dale and Larry Hart, Shannon Sadler, Ernie Sutherland IV, Bradley Sutherland and Brian Sutherland.
