George B. McAfee

George Baker McAfee, 89, New Albany, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Eugene Joseph and Nola Fern Baker McAfee.
He was a preacher for 60 years, having preached at Mount Tabor for the last 16 years, and was also a financial adviser for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles McAfee.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, the former Ruth Lorrine Clifton; four sons, Robert McAfee of Memphis, Stanley McAfee of Florida, Barry McAfee of Floyd Knobs and Gregory McAfee of Borden; a daughter, Beverly Sprecher of Corydon; 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 9, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Thursday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by cremation.
