Bertha L. (Billie) Baker Hartlage, 100, Lanesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Diversicare Providence in New Albany.
Born July 25, 1916, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Gertrude Hollis Baker.
She was a nurse and a retired book keeper from the Armour Co. in Louisville. After retirement, she resided for some 35 years in Spring Hill, Fla., where she was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, a Eucharistic minister and volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She also was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Hartlage.
Survivors include two children, Harold Baker (Gisela) and Betty Mason; three stepchildren, Rosie Coomes, Mary Ann Carter and Martin Hartlage (Sue); a brother, Jerry L. Baker (Jean); 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 2, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 3, after 9 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Lanesville Catholic Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Kosair Children’s Hospital and Charity.
