Wanda Fern Lowe, 87, Corydon, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Jan. 15, 1930, in Mauckport, she was the daughter of the late Straude and Bessie Richard Shewmaker.
She worked as a caregiver and was a member of the VFW Post 2950 Ladies Auxiliary in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Lowe; a son, James E. Lowe; a granddaughter, Patty Shaffer; a great-grandson, Nathan Shaffer; five brothers, Donald Shumaker and Harley, Delbert, Floyd and Bobby Shewmaker; and two sisters, Norma Merk and Dottie Kinser.
Survivors include a son, Chuck Lowe (Debbie) of Rome; four daughters, Judy Tirey (Jim) of Indianapolis and Pat Bruce (Ronnie), Betty Dismang (Howard) and Susie Lowe, all of Corydon; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, Feb. 4, from noon to 4 p.m. at VFW Old Capitol Post 2950 in Corydon.
