Faye Shireman Philpot, 99, Corydon, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Beard’s Assisted Care near Laconia.
Born May 20, 1917, near Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Essie Crecelius Shireman.
She was a farmer, was formerly employed at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Bag Plant near Charlestown and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Old Capitol Aerie No. 2794 in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Philpot; a son, James Larry (Jimmy) Philpot; a brother, Ralph Shireman; and a sister, Alma Bussabarger.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Louise Philpot Mitchell Lawton of Louisville and Yvonne Sue Philpot Herbaugh of Corydon; six grandchildren, Diana Hutchison (Pat), Laura Pusey (David), Alicia Herbaugh, Robert Philpot (Deanna), Carrie Philpot and John Philpot; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 1, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Bruce Hawkins.
Pallbearers: John, Robert and Mason Philpot, David and Daniel Pusey and Mitchell Hutchison.
