Joyce A. Bruner

Joyce Ann Bruner, 74, Palmyra, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Born Aug. 24, 1942, at Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Peggy Shelton.
She was an Army veteran and former nurse at Todd-Dickey Health Care in Leavenworth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Cathy Esparza and Angel Bruner Smith; a granddaughter, Nicole Zimmerman; and a great-granddaughter, Breahanna Lynch.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Donald C. Bruner Sr.; five sons, Mike Bruner (Donna) of New Salisbury, Randall King of Sellersburg, James Bruner of Clarksville, Donald C. Bruner Jr. (Tonya) of Pekin and Herbert N. Bruner (Joy) of Palmyra; a daughter, Susan Bruner of Salem; three brothers, Edward L. Shelton (Margaret) of Dudley, N.C., and Benny W. Shelton (Fran) and Mike Shelton, both of Augusta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 15, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 16, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.
