Geraldine Jones, 93, Corydon, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Oct. 26, 1923, in Bee Spring, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Felix and Grace Vincent Meredith.
She was an inspector for Curtis Wright in Louisville during World War II, a Sunday school teacher and a founding member of Cross of Calvary Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William Jones; four brothers, Gayle, Harold, Kova and Cleborn Meredith; and three sisters, LaVerne Jones, Marie Moutardier and Maleen Piercy.
Survivors include four sons, Terry L. Jones (Vicki) of Homewood, Ill., Robert L. Jones (Rebecca) of Brandon, Miss., Rodney B. Jones (Barbara) of Corydon and Duane Jones (Jan) of Elizabeth; two daughters, Pamela Alcorn (Zyndell) of Corydon and Anita Adams (Larry) of Pittsboro; a brother, Holmes Meredith of Louisville; two sisters, Jonell Mehr of North Kingston, R.I., and Shelba Jean Tonegawa of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 12, after 11 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Jan. 12, at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Central Cemetery.
Officiant: Dr. Laurence Adams.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
