Damon R. Combs

Damon Ray Combs, 75, Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Paoli, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at Hospice of Texarkana Inpatient Care.
Born Sept. 4, 1941, in Happy, Ky., he was the son of th late Barnett and Sallie Plowman Combs.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of First Baptist Church in Wake Village, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, the former Sue Johnson; two daughters, Page Zapien and Peggy Hoke, both of Paoli; three sisters, Bess McCollough of Martinez, Ga., Edna Hockensmith of Paducah, Ky., and Dana Mills of Newton, N.C.; a brother, Bernard Combs of Depauw; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Chapel Wood Funeral Home in Nash, Texas.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Chapel Wood Memorial Gardens in Nash.
Officiant: The Rev. Scott Neathery.
