Frances Mayola Bickett Gregory, 87, Laconia, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation ‘ Harrison in Corydon.
Born Feb. 9, 1929, in Loretto, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Richard Oris and Teresa Mills Bickett.
She was a homemaker and farmer, former Taylor Township trustee, former board member of the South Harrison Water Co., former board member of Harrison County Welfare Dept., former Democrat precinct committee person, a charter member of the South Harrison Community Development Corp. and community activist and supporter of people in need.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Paul Gregory, and three brothers, Buddy, Clel and Joe Bickett.
Survivors include a son, Mark Gregory (Patty) of Laconia and David Fitzgerald, who cared for her and whom she loved like a son.
Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Officiant: The Rev. Richard Goodwin.
Pallbearers: Don Wasko, Martin and Greg Mills, Chuck Wiley, Roy Wiseman and David Gregory.
