Norman D. Emily

Norman Dwight Emily, 86, Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Crandall, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016.
Born Dec. 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Ivan C. and Virginia F. Emily.
He retired from General Electric in Louisville after 40 years as a senior finishes chemist, served in the Air Force, retired from the Kentucky Air National Guard and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda and Corydon United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Ivan Blaine Emily and Lowell Arthur Emily, and a granddaughter, Casey Nicole Emily.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Joyce K. Barry; five children, Debbie Emerson (Jim) of Fort Worth, Texas, Kathy Fasbinder (Gus) of Punta Gorda, Dwight Emily (Cathy) of Ramer, Tenn., Jeff Emily (Lu Ann) of Crandall and Lisa Emily of New Albany; a sister, V. Kathleen Campbell of New Albany; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service: Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda with inurnment at Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall.
