Olive J. Jackson
Olive Jewell Jenkins Jackson, 86, Marengo, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center ‘ Indian Creek in Corydon.
Born Aug. 28, 1930, in Crawford County, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Minnie Hawkins Jenkins.
She was of the Christian faith, a baptized member of Bogard Log Church, attended Marengo School and later earned her GED. She worked at the Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown and retired as custodian of the South Central Vocational School in Rego.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Jackson; a son, William J. Jackson; a grandchild, Taurcea J. Jackson; a half sister, Glacial MacIntosh; a half brother, Bryan Scott; a sister, Pearl Austin; and two brothers, Otis and Earl Jenkins.
Survivors include a son, Timothy W. Jackson (Vanessa) of Leavenworth; a daughter, Alice J. Forshee (Richard) of Jeffersonville; a daughter-in-law, Sherrilea Jackson of Milltown; a sister, Joyce Broughton of Marengo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 6, after 9 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment in Batman Ridge Cemetery near Milltown.
Officiant: Brother Morris Larimore.
