Richard A. Best


Richard Allen Best, 55, Corydon, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at his home.
Born July 28, 1961, in New Albany, he was the son of Mildred Nichols Best of Elizabeth and the late Charles J. Best.
He was the owner and operator of Tindall Small Engine and a member of the National Rifle Association, the North American Fishing Club, the North American Hunting Club and the North American Rifle Association.
Survivors besides his mother include his wife, the former Melissa L. Eddleman; three sons, Nick Best of Elizabeth, Bill Best (Jamie Emily) of Corydon and Wesley Best (Kayla) of Central; six daughters, Brandi Milan (Billy) of New Albany, Abby, Morgan and Megan Best, all of Corydon, Beth Ann Wiseman (Joey) of Central and Tara Soots (Nick) of Elizabeth; a brother, Wilbert T. Best of Elizabeth; two sisters, Berretta L. Best and Rachel L. Best (Janet McElroy), both of Elizabeth; 19 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a goddaughter, MaKayla Grace.
Visitation: Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 24, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Oct. 24, at noon at the funeral home with burial in Central Cemetery.
Officiant: Mike Kurz.
Pallbearers: Dave Pike, Steven Tindall, John Eddleman, Jeremy Willis Sr., Anthony Robinson, Dale Hart, Russell Kopp and Lloyd Kirkham.
Honorary pallbearers: Terry Turner, Ronnie Stepro, Larry Trivette and Charles Tindall Jr.
